The Chang lab is in the Department of Systems & Computational Biology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Our laboratory integrates computational modeling with biochemical and multi-omics experimentation to broadly investigate the impacts of abiotic stresses (e.g. oxidative stress, radiation, temperature) on molecules and cells. Our long-term vision is to advance understanding of mechanisms underlying both sensitivity and resistance to such stresses and harness our understanding to engineer controlled robustness of proteins and cells for technological and therapeutic applications. We work primarily in bacterial and human systems and with an emphasis on how stress relates to health and disease

We are currently recruiting!

Our group is starting exciting new projects modeling cellular phenotypes under stress, developing machine learning-based protein design tools, and engineering proteins for oxidative stress resistance. Interested young scientists are encouraged to make contact.
